Learn something new every time you make something.
Strive for skill in your craft.
There is no reason to rush. This creation is not on a deadline. Finish, yes, but don’t feel obligated to finish fast. Put the necessary time into every aspect of creation. If it takes a year, or two, that’s fine.
Don’t make what someone else says you should be making. Make what’s important, because that shows in the attention you’re willing to pay to a piece.
Listen to criticism. Seek out community.
Try new things without fear.
Keep going past the obstacles, or walk around them.
Make compromises when it’s important, but stand your ground before losing your integrity.
Look around you. Watch the unfolding of your surroundings. Laugh a lot.
